DESCRIPTION:

MOS is seven trips and 420 miles into our mission to complete the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. And yet, somehow, we haven't seen Montana. So we're dropping our final anchor segment along the trail, in the heart of the Northern Rockies.

We'll be spending 5 days trekking through the Beaverhead mountains, along the Montana/Idaho border, taking in the dramatic views, mountain streams, and verdant boreal forest, hiking along the spine of North America. We'll be hiking from Lemhi Pass to Morrison Lake, in the Beaverhead National Forest, hiking along trails once used by the Nez Perce to reach their hunting grounds and fishing streams. Lewis and Clark later passed through Bannock Pass, which we too will be crossing. Elk, Grizzly Bear and a variety of other mega fauna call this area home.

If you've never been on one of our backpacking trips, take a look at our Diaries and Images page, where you can check out pictures and journals from over the years!
